Overview
What this isMost of the work on this site sits behind client logins, and the contracts that cover it do not allow screenshots. Rather than publish a client system with black boxes over the awkward parts, or describe software without ever showing any, Northwind Institute is a working system filled with invented data. Every screen here runs. Nothing on any of them belongs to anybody.
The figures are made up. The shapes are not, and the shapes are the part worth looking at: where an approval actually stalls, what a budget screen does with a line that has gone over, what a migration report owes you about the records it left behind.
A request part way through its approval chain, including the exception route that the process document does not describe.
OpenWhat moved, and the second table: what did not, with a machine-logged reason and a disposition for every record.
OpenThe first month after go-live, dense in the opening fortnight and thin afterwards, every item small.
OpenAllocation against committed and spent, by unit, with one line past its allocation and flagged rather than buried. Drawn in a material style.
OpenA required sequence that still lets an exception through, with how long each application has sat where it is. Drawn flat.
OpenA briefing pack beside the record it was built from, each field marked with the system it was pulled from. Drawn minimal.
